Purty Darn Quick Returns in Remington's Mr Jet Moore Stakes

OKLAHOMA CITY, OK–MARCH 30, 2023–Purty Darn Quick, a 5-year-old son of champion Jess Louisiana Blue owned by Nick Hammes and trainer John Hammes, will make his season debut in Saturday's 350-yard, $68,000 Mr Jet Moore Stakes (RG2) for Oklahoma-breds at Remington Park.
Purty Darn Quick is coming off of a 2022 campaign during which he earned $83,528 from six races and ran second, 1 3/4 lengths behind winner and 2021 world champion Danjer, in the October 22, $270,000 Bank of America Challenge Championship (G1) at Horseshoe Indianapolis. The gelding drew post 7 and will be ridden by Ramiro Garcia.
Other contenders include Charlies Fury, a homebred 7-year-old Furyofthewind gelding trained by Michelle Hurdle for owners Tom and Kathleen McNally. Charlies Fury is coming off of a third-place finish, a neck behind winner Apollitical Payoff, in the March 10, 250-yard Mighty Deck Three Stakes (RG2) for Oklahoma-breds. However, the sorrel gelding's two stakes wins last season included the Mr Jet Moore.
Charlies Fury drew post 3 and will be ridden by Agustin Silva.
