Memorial Services Set June 25th for Longtime Texas Horseman Terry Albracht

SPRINGTOWN, TX—JUNE 16, 2021— Terrance Wayne "Terry" Albracht, 71, of Springtown, Texas passed away suddenly at his home Sunday, June 13th.

A memorial service will be held at Galbreaith-Pickard Funeral Chapel, 913 N. Elm St., Weatherford, Texas, on Friday, June 25th at 1:00 p.m.

Terry was born November 15, 1949, to Jerry and Pauline "Polly" Albracht in Hereford, Texas.

Owner of Albracht Insurance Agency LLP, Terry began his insurance career in the early 1970’s gravitating to equine insurance in 1985. A horse owner himself, he began competing in roping and cutting horses.

Over the past 30 years he was also the proud owner of several racehorses, mares, foals, and stallion shares. He looked forward to going to the horse sales and races - anything to do with the horses that he loved. Over the years he insured many of industry's leading stallions and mares.

Terry had a big smile and an even bigger heart. He was a man who always tried to do right by people. His handshake was a promise, and his word was his bond. He will be sorely missed by all who knew and loved him.

He was preceded in death by his parents, brother-in-law John Broome, and nephew Jordan Broome.

Terry is survived by his beloved wife Shelley, son Spencer and wife Chana, and his pride and joy grandchildren: Parker, William, Emma, and Eleanor.

He is also survived by sisters, Kay Bell (husband Roy) and Gwen Broome, and brother, Richard (wife Linda); many nieces, nephews, and large extended family; his employees, and friends too numerous to count.

In lieu of flowers, donations would be appreciated to cancer charities.

Services are under the direction of Galbreaith-Pickard Funeral Chapel in Weatherford, Texas.
