Elena Andrade Looks To Keep Her Barn Rolling And Winning On Saturday

LOS ALAMITOS, CA—MAY 26, 2023— The wins have been flowing for the barn of trainer Elena Andrade during the last three racing nights. Since May 14, the trainer has saddled four winners from only five starters including three consecutive winners during the weekend of May 20 and 21.

The trainer’s fruitful results began with Eladin Flores’ Jazzys Dashin Eagle in the 8th race on Sunday, May 14. From there, Andrade saddled Howard Nichols’ Heather Denise to a runner-up effort last Saturday night before returning to the winner’s circle with each of her next three starters.

Her first winner during the current streak was Flores’ Trix Up My Sleeve, who as the winning favorite returned $4.20 in the 7th race last Saturday. Only one race later, Andrade was back in the winner’s circle with Ramiro Lozano’s juvenile Hubba Hubba, who took control of race 8th after the start on the way to a surprising win at 13-1.

Her
final winner of the weekend came in the 7th race on Sunday night, as the classy Jessica Cruz won the James Smith Memorial Handicap leading from start to finish for owner Gary Laramie.

Andrade is now aiming for her fifth winner from the past two weeks when she sends out Oscar Andrade and Steve Burns’ Disruptor in the featured 10th race allowance on Saturday.

The Apollitical Jess gelding is out the Andrade family’s talented producer Corona Mas Final. Disruptor won his last start on April 22. Grade 1 finalist DK Double A will also race.
