Q RACING—OCTOBER 21, 2020—The Bank of America Challenge Championships are a celebration of great racing American Quarter Horses, and Enrique Rojo of Franklin, Idaho, has a lot to be proud of.

He is the breeder, owner, trainer, groom and galloper of Royallittlewagon, who is set to run in the Pitre GMC Distaff on Saturday, one of the races on the Bank of America Challenge Championships card on October 24 at The Downs at Albuquerque.

“She’s a really good filly,” he says. “I really enjoy running her. I am excited to run her here.”

The 2015 mare is by Paintyourownwagon and out of the Royal Shake Em mare Royal Lil Strike. She is a multiple stakes winner who has won nine of 31 starts and earned $48,953.

She is also a second-generation homebred for the Rojo family, as his brother, Efren, bred Royal Lil Strike.

The brothers had horses in Mexico, and when they moved to the United States, Efren got a racehorse. Enrique said he was going to get one, too – and a trainer's license as well.

He did both, and took over training his horses this year, in addition to his full-time job in the poultry business, a career he has held for more than 20 years.

Royallittlewagon began her career with a second-place finish in the 2017 Rocky Mountain Spring Classic Futurity, then won the Bitterroot Juvenile and Oneida Co. Fair Futurity. This year, she contested the Weber Downs and Pocatello Distaff Challenges, with three wins or placings in eight starts on the year.

This is their first trip to Albuquerque, and only the second start outside the Intermountain region for the Royallittlewagon. Enrique strokes his gentle homebred.

“She’s feeling right,” he says.
