OKLAHOMA CITY, OK—MARCH 19, 2020—Ten 2-year-olds, topped by fastest qualifier Seven Tales, are entered back in Saturday’s 300-yard, $383,725 Oklahoma Futurity (G2) at Remington Park.

A gelded son of Wagon Tales trained by Mary Meza for owner Paula Cristina Villatoro, Seven Tales made his debut with a 1 1/2-length victory in the first of a dozen Oklahoma Futurity trials on March 7. Seven Tales was a $7,500 purchase at last year’s Heritage Place Yearling Sale.

Seven Tales drew post 8 and will be ridden by Agustin Silva.

Brandon Chavez’s Jess Kiss Me, a daughter of Kiss My Hocks and a $37,000 buy at last year’s Ruidoso Select Yearling Sale, drew post and will be ridden by Rolando Raudales for trainer Guillermo Valdivia. The second-fastest qualifier, Jess Kiss Me made her debut with a nose win in the sixth trial.

Oklahoma Derby(G3)

Four other Quarter Horse stakes will be contested at Remington Park on Saturday, including the 350-yard, $232,600 Oklahoma Derby (G3).

Ivory Turbo, a homebred Ivory James gelding trained by Michelle Hurdle for owners Tom and Kathleen McNally, posted the fastest qualifying time from six trials on March 8. Ivory Turbo made his season debut with a neck victory in the fourth heat.

Ivory Turbo has earned $28,646 from six starts, all in Oklahoma, and the gelding was a finalist in last year’s $179,136 Oklahoma Horsemen’s Association Futurity (R) at Will Rogers Downs. Agustin Silva will ride the gelding from post 7.

Sam Green’s Uptowne Babe, a homebred daughter of champion Mr Jess Perry trained by Guillermo Valdivia, drew post 6 and will be ridden by Rolando Raudales. Uptowne Babe is coming off of a 2-year-old campaign during which the bay filly won the 350-yard, $1,073,100 Heritage Place Futurity (G1) at Remington Park.

Eastex Stakes (G2)

Also on Saturday, Robert and Stacey Martin’s Uncle Eds Idea will make his season debut in the 350-yard, $50,000 Eastex Stakes (G2). A homebred sophomore son of Dominyun trained by Tammy Kay Johnson, the sorrel gelding has won four of seven races and has earned $151,017, and he ended his 2-year-old campaign with a neck victory in the 440-yard, $252,876 Black Gold 440 Futurity Championship (RG3) at Will Rogers Downs on November 9. Uncle Eds Idea drew post 5 and will be ridden by Jose Vega.

Decketta Stakes (G2)

A dozen distaffers have been entered in Saturday’s 350-yard, $50,000 Decketta Stakes (G2). Reliance Ranches LLC’s Conquering Marie, a homebred graded stakes winning 4-year-old Coronado Cartel mare trained by Mike Robbins, drew post 6 and will be ridden by Benito Baca. Conquering Marie is coming off of a 3-year-old season during which the mare banked $116,653 from nine races and won the 400-yard, $211,100 Golden State Derby (G2) at Los Alamitos.

Oklahoma Juvenile Stakes

Palomino Trucking Inc.’s Buford T, a gelded son of Capo de Capi trained by Luis Villafranco, drew post 2 and will be ridden by Agustin Silva in Saturday’s 350-yard, $50,000 Oklahoma Juvenile Stakes. Buford T made his debut with a one-length victory in the fifth Oklahoma Futurity trial.
