SELMA, TX—JUNE 29, 2020—Retama Park has carded three $30,000 stakes on its 10-race Fourth of July holiday program. Post time for the first race is set for 6:45 p.m. (CDT).
Sarah Huskey’s Serendipity Rocks, a homebred son of Rock Solid Jess trained by Esteban Rubio, will make his 5-year-old season debut in Saturday’s 350-yard, $30,000 King William Stakes. The gelding ended his 2019 campaign with two wins at Lone Star Park, including the 400-yard, $25,000 B.F. Phillips Jr. Stakes (R) on November 8.
Serendipity Rocks drew post 5 and will be ridden by Gaspar Garcia.

Also on Saturday, Rockin J Running Horses’ Viva Le Don is one of 10 middle-distance specialist entered in the 550-yard, $30,000 Tower of the Americas Stakes. Trained by Tammy Johnson, the homebred 4-year-old Rock Solid Jess gelding most recently placed third in the 440-yard, $72,000 Bank of America Oklahoma Championship Challenge (G2) at Remington Park, and he was a finalist in three graded derbies last year, including the 440-yard, $345,000 Texas Classic Derby (G1) at Lone Star Park. Viva Le Don drew post 5 and will be ridden by Jose Vega.
Nine distaffers are entered in Saturday’s 350-yard, $30,000 Selma Stakes. SS Classyjess, a 4-year-old daughter of Rock Solid Jess owned by Edgar Rosales and trained by Jose Carrizales, drew post 7 and will be ridden by Juan I. Garcia. The mare won two of his four races during the Louisiana Downs winter meet, including the 350-yard, $15,000 Swift Stakes on January 25.
