OKLAHOMA CITY, OK—MAY 6, 2021—Instygator, a multiple graded stakes placed son of Ivory James owned by Barboza Racing Corp., will make his sophomore season debut in Sunday’s 400-yard Heritage Place Derby (G2) trials at Remington Park.

Instygator is one of 56 3-year-olds entered in Sunday’s trials. The 10 fastest qualifiers from the six heats will meet in the $333,010 Heritage Place Derby final on May 29.

Instygator is coming off of a juvenile campaign during which the Texas-bred gelding and $25,000 yearling purchase earned $805,907 from seven outs and ran second in both the 440-yard, $3-million All American Futurity (G1) at Ruidoso Downs, and 400-yard, $1.031-million Texas Classic Futurity G1) at Lone Star Park. Instygator drew post 3 and will be ridden by James Flores for trainer Edelmiro Carrizales in the fifth trial.

Woodys Gold, a sorrel son of Woodbridge trained by Clint Crawford for owner Cavenaugh Quarter Horses LLC, will make his season debut from post 2 under jockey Francisco Calderon in the fifth heat. Woodys Gold will be making his first start since September 20, when he scored a 1 1/4-length victory in the 400-yard, $387,000 New Mexico State Fair Futurity (RG3) for state-bred 2-year-olds.

Other prominent 3-year-olds entered in Sunday’s trials include Paint Me Tres and One Incredible Hock. Trained by Clint Crawford for owner Summer Hill Farm LLC, Paint Me Tres is a homebred Tres Seis filly who ended her 2-year-old season with a half-length victory in the 400-yard, $234,700 Black Gold Lassie Championship Futurity (RG3) at Will Rogers Downs.

Paint Me Tres drew post 9 and will be ridden by Jorge Torres in the fourth trial.

One Incredible Hock races for Maria Medrano and Hernan Medrano, who purchased the Kiss My Hocks colt for $15,500 at the 2019 Heritage Place Yearling Sale. One Incredible Hock has banked $162,824 from eight outs, and his four wins include a three-quarter length victory in last year’s 350-yard, $221,000 TQHA Sires’ Cup Futurity (RG2) at Retama Park.

One Incredible Hock drew the rail post and will be ridden by Nestor Duran for trainer Adrian Huitron in the sixth trial.
