TULSA OK—JULY 21, 2021—Three Quarter Horse stakes, topped by the 350-yard, $231,340 Speedhorse Futurity (G3), are scheduled on Saturday’s 12-race program at Fair Meadows at Tulsa.

Docs Dusty Cartel, a homebred son of Coronado Cartel owned by Dusty Rose Ranch LLC, will risk his three-race win streak in the Speedhorse Futurity. The colt is coming off of a Remington Park spring campaign during which he won two of his three starts, including the 330-yard, $85,000 FL Lady Bug Stakes (RG3) for Oklahoma-bred 2-year-olds on May 22.

Docs Dusty Cartel drew post 3 and will be ridden by James Flores for trainer Stacey Capps.

Also on Saturday, 10 sophomores are entered back in the 350-yard, $77,180 Speedhorse Derby. JC Wild King, a stakes-winning homebred Apollitical Jess gelding trained by Fidencio Jimenez for owner Jose Cervantes, drew post 7 and will be ridden by James Flores. JC Wild King has earned $52,349 from eight races, and his 2-year-old resume includes a second-place finish, a neck behind winner Bad Monkey, in the October 24, $126,000 John Deere Juvenile Challenge Championship (G2) at The Downs at Albuquerque.

Regina Laymon’s Pevs Charley, a multiple stakes-placed One Fabulous Eagle gelding trained by Kenny Laymon, heads a field of 10 2-year-olds entered in Saturday’s 350-yard, $15,000 Cherokee Nation Stakes. Pevs Charley ran second, 1 12 lengths behind winner Docs Dusty Cartel, in the May 22 FL Lady Bug Stakes (RG3) at Remington Park. Pevs Charley drew post 6 and will be ridden by Albert Medrano.
