Gold Medal Solider Set 7-5 In Morning-Line for $23,770 NDQHRA Quarter Horse Futurity

BISMARK, ND—JULY 23, 2021— Gold Medal Solider has been set as the7-5 morning-line favorite for the $23,770 NDQHRA Quarter Horse Futurity on Saturday at North Dakota Horse Park. The 350yard race for North Dakota-bred 2-year-old Quarter Horses will run as the final event on Saturday's 8-race card at the Bismark racetrack.

The son of Bv Travelin Soldier, racing for owner-trainer Junior Dolphus, brings a perfect 3-for-3 record into the final following a two-length trial win over Favorite Rambler to set the second fastest qualifying time. Bred by Wade Leggett, from the Strawfly Special mare Gold Medal Jano, Gold Medal Soldier won the Chippewa Downs North Dakota Bred Futurity on June 27th. He has earned $7,500.

Jockey Brian Beetem will be back aboard from Post 3 on Saturday.

Racing for owner Steve Leonard and trainer Perry Cavanaugh, Favorite Rambler (4-1) enters the race as the third fastest qualifier from the July 8th trials when he finished second to Gold Medal Soldier. The son of Ima Ramblin On brings a (6) 1-2-2 record into the final that includes a third-place finish in the BHS Quarter Horse Futurity at Miles City in May.

Jockey Larren Delorme will ride from post 7.

Fastest qualifier Runaway Separtely (5-1) will start form Post 7 for owner Randal Schwartz. Trainer Mallory North has named Eric Snodgrass to ride the son of Separate Interest who broke his maiden in the July 8th trails with an impressive three-length effort. He was second in his career debut for a $15,000-tag at Remington Park on April 22nd.
