PHOENIX, AZ—DECEMBER 21, 2021—Fastest qualifier Wildroses101 is one of 10 sophomores entered back in Thursday’s 400-yard, $35,000-added Arizona QRA Turf Paradise Open Derby.

A gelded son of the Mr Jess Perry stallion Ja Jess Perfect racing for Alan Ostdahl and trainer Tyler Gibbs, Wildroses101 made his local debut with a neck victory in the last of three trials on December 2. Wildroses101 drew post 5 and will be ridden by Joseph Belloc Jr.

Other contenders include Republic Anne, a stakes winner during the Arizona Downs summer meet. Trained by Jesus Olivas-Valenzuela for owner Javier Gonzalez, the Apollitical Jess filly has earned $44,247 from 11 races this season, and her three wins include a three-quarter length victory in the 440-yard, $15,000 Arizona Downs Stakes on September 15.

Republic Anne drew post 3 and will be ridden by Emilio Tapia.

Also on Thursday, a dozen sprinters are entered in the 100-yard, $24,000 Dashin All The Way Stakes.

Bella Faccia will be dropping in class off of her sixth-place finish, 3 3/4 lengths behind winner Apollitical Papa, in the 440-yard, $100,000 Zia Park Championship (G1) on December 5. The sorrel 7-year-old One Famous Eagle stallion is owned and trained by Mario Dominguez.

Bella Faccia drew post 4 and will be ridden by Mark Jasso.

Only one entry, Perfect Moves, has won at the abbreviated 100-yard distance. A 4-year-old son of Maknmoves owned and trained by Chris R. Mitchell, the Utah-bred gelding won a 100-yard sprint for $10,000 claimers at Sweetwater Downs in Rock Springs, Wyoming, on September 18.

Perfect Moves drew post 9 and will be ridden by Nakia Ramirez.
