PHOENIX, AZ–JANUARY 5, 2023–From Above, a 4-year-old son of Kiddy Up and the morning-line favorite, drew post 3 for Monday's 870-yard, $25,000 Turf Paradise 870 Championship Stakes at Turf Paradise.

Trained by Jesus Olivas-Valenzuela for owner Pedro Espinoza and the lone Quarter Horse in the field, From Above is coming off of a 1 1/4-length victory in the 870-yard, $25,000 Classy Sheikh Stakes at Turf Paradise on November 25. The California-bred gelding will be ridden by Ezequiel Lara.

The Turf Paradise 870 Championship was originally scheduled to be run on December 29, but track conditions caused by inclement weather forced track managment to cancel that day's race card. The complete lineup, in post position order including jockey assignments and morning-line odds:
