Mister Lewie Memorial, Futurity Trials Headline Saturday Program at Remington Park

OKLAHOMA CITY, OK–MAY 19, 2023–Bryan L. Hawk's Livewires Turnpike, a gelded son of the Cartel Success stallion CRM Livewire, will make the third start of his sophomore season in Saturday's 400-yard, $30,000 MIster Lewie Memorial Stakes (G1) at Remington Park.

Livewires Turnpike began his 3-year-old campaign with a 1 1/2-length victory in the March 25, 350-yard Speedhorse Graham Paint and Appaloosa Stakes (G1). The gelding has won eight of 12 races, including four of eight at Remington Park, and he has earned $153,252.

Livewires Turnpike drew post 3 and will be ridden by Francisco Calderon for trainer Matt Whitekiller.

Other contenders include Jeff Adams' RP Reckless Wire, a 4-year-old daughter of CRM Livewire trained by Dee Keener and one four distaffers in the nine horse field. RP Reckless Wire made her season debut with a one-length win in the April 14, 350-yard Paul Harber Memorial Stakes (G1).

RP Reckless Wire drew post 9 and will be ridden by Cody Wainscott.

Also on Saturday, 50 2-year-olds -- including stakes winners Whiskey And Rain and Triple L Xpress -- are entered in five 350-yard Speedhorse Graham Paint and Appaloosa Futurity (G1) trials.

Whiskey And Rain is coming off of a neck victory in the March 25, $203,500 Oklahoma Paint and Appaloosa Futurity (G1). Monty Arrossa trains the CRM Livewire filly for owner Dunn Ranch.

Whiskey And Rain drew post 10 and will be ridden by Francisco Calderon in the fourth heat.

Triple L Xpress is a son of CRM Livewire racing for Planefun LLC from the barn of trainer Dee Keener. The colt brings in a two-race win streak that includes a neck victory in the 330-yard, $153,700 PSBA American Paint Classic Futurity (G1).

Triple L Xpress drew post 6 and will be ridden by Bryan Candanosa in the fifth trial.

The 10 fastest qualifiers from Saturday's trials will meet in the May 27, $200,000-est. Speedhorse Graham Paint and Appaloosa Futurity final.
