CLAREMORE, OK—SEPTEMBER 12, 2020—Leading Oklahoma trainer Eddie D. Willis got four winner's on Saturday's card at Will Rogers Downs, including the fastest two qualifiers for the $175,000-est. Oklahoma Horsemen's Mystery Futurity(RG2).

He qualified a total of four to the Mystery Futurity as well as saddling four finalists for the Oklahoma Horsemen's $85,000-est. Oklahoma Horsemen's Mystery Derby (see related story).

Willis' Dynamo Snow broke his maiden in the third trial under jockey Justine Klaiber to get the fastest qualifying time in the futurity of :17.670 seconds, a 94 speed index for 350 yards.

Racing for owner Larry Rice, the son of world champion sire FDD Dynasty was second in his Remington Park and Heritage Place Futurity trials at Remington Park before a third-place effort in the Rainbow trials at Ruidoso Downs this summer.

Bred by Flag Ranch LLC, from the Corona Cartel mare A Snowy Cartel, Dynamo Snow has earned $9,530 in four starts this year.

Two-time stakes winner Facing The Fire, owned-and-trained by Willis, got his third consecutive win on Saturday when he won the last trial by 1-¾ lengths to set the second fastest time. Under jockey Jimmy D. Brooks, Facing The Fire completed the 350 yards in :17:677, equaling a 93 speed index.

The son of champion sire Valiant Hero was making his first start since winning the Easy Jet Stakes May 30th at Remington Park. Prior to that he broke his maiden in the Remington Park Juvenile Stakes.

Bred by Alona James, from the Walk Thru Fire mare DM Sashay N Fire, Facing The Fire has banked $74,063 this season.

Willis' additional Mystery Futurity qualifiers were 4th fastest Sin Sational Kisser; and 7th fastest Cindydoesitagain.

Remington Park Oklahoma-Bred Futurity(RG1) runner-up Dangerous Cartel, under champion jockey James Flores, was a half-length winner in the fifth trial to get the third-fastest clocking of :17.788 seconds, a 90 speed index.

Trainer Terry Underwood conditions the son of leading third-crop sire Coronado Cartel for owner Bill Underwood. Bred by Jerry Bailey, from the Leaving Memories mare Dangerous Dawn, Dangerous Cartel has compiled a (5) 1-2-0 record and earned $158,734 this season.

The 10 fastest qualifiers will return to Will Rogers Downs on Sunday, September 27th to vie for the winner's share of the $175,000-est. purse.
