B the One Sets New Track Record In $107,869 Hadley/Giles Futurity at Weber

OGDEN, UT—MAY 1, 2021—In the feature race of the day, B the One broke on top and never looked back to win the $107,869 Hadley/Giles Futurity at Weber Downs on Saturday.

B The One and jockey Cesar Moreno cleared the field by a length and a quarter in the 300-yard futurity. He stopped the clock in 15.264, braking the Weber Downs track record and earning a 109 speed index. The previous 300 yard track record of :15.391 seconds was set May 5, 2018 by Jess Send It.

B the One won his trial and was the third fastest qualifier from 11 trials on April 17. He is now undefeated in two starts and has earned $44,022.

Luis Gonzalez trains the 2-year-old colt for owner CB Stables. He was bred on Oklahoma by Randy and Stacy Hill, by Five Bar Cartel and out of KT Perry, by Mr Jess Perry.

Mound Valley Eagle led the charge for second place and finished a half-length ahead of Hear Me Roarr in third.

Jesus Valenzuela rode Mound Valley Eagle for trainer Riley Moosman and owners Andrea and Eddie Jensen. The One Fabulous Eagle gelding was bred in Idaho by Abigail Kawananakoa, out of Royalfooseperrypie, by Foose.

Mound Valley Eagle was the fastest qualifier and won his trial gate to wire. He has a win and second place finish in his two career starts with $22,450 in earnings.

Hear Me Roarr also hailed from the Moosman barn, ridden by Jesus Canales for owner Keith Nellesen. The filly was bred in Utah by McColee Land & Livestock, by Roarrr and out of the graded stakes placed mare Aquafina, by First Down Dash.

Hear Me Roarr was the second fastest qualifier after winning her trial. She has $11,661 earned in two starts.

Completing the field were Going Caliente, Tynacious, Cowboyhatbygucci, Free Roller, A Financial Hero and Fishin Off the Wagon. Tynacious finished fifth but was disqualified and placed eighth. Jr Divine Dynasty, Makn Martinis and Sandstone Senator were scratched.
