Pattys Saint Explodes To Fastest Time In Gary and Sharilyn Blattner Memorial Derby Trials

POCATELLO, ID—MAY 11, 2021—Multiple stakes winner Pattys Saint exploded to a 3-¼ length win in the last of two trials Sunday afternoon (May 9) at Pocatello Downs for the Gary and Sharilyn Blattner Memorial Derby at Pocatello Downs.

The daughter of Jess Got Easier posted the fastest qualifying time of :17.266 seconds, a 107 speed index for the 350 yards.

The 10 fastest qualifiers will return to Pocatello Downs on Saturday, May 22nd to vie for the winner's share of a $17,400 purse .

Trainer Heath Hillman named Jesus Virgen to ride Pattys Saint in her 3-year-old debut on Sunday. Racing for owner-breeder Robert L. Harrison, the Idaho-bred filly has won four of seven career starts including the Oneida County Futurity and WHR Open Futurity last year. She has earned nearly $30,000.

Harrison bred Pattys Saint from the Saint Shackleton mare Sp Saint Patty.

Trainer Mark Hanson sent out stakes winner The Prize Ferarri to a one-length win in the opening trial to get the second fastest clocking of :17.625 seconds, a 96 speed index. Under jockey Jesus Canales the son of champion sire The Louisiana Cartel won with authority.

The Prize Ferarri races for owner's RTM Stables, Robin Dunn, Kevin Dunn and Bryon Goody. Bred in Oklahoma by Weetona Stanley, from the Mr Jess Perry mare Ferarri Fast Prize, the brown gelding has compiled a (7) 5-2-0 record and earned $47,321.

Last season The Prize Ferarri won the John Deere Pocatello Downs Juvenile Challenge and was second in the Bitterroot Futurity(G3) and Crush The Curve Futurity.
