A Revenant Filly Breaks Maiden, Sets Top Mark In $137,100 Mystic Lake Northlands Futurity Trials

SHAKOPOEE, MN—JULY 28, 2021—Eye Live For Candy, a daughter of leading first-crop sire A Revenant, got her first win on Wednesday evening while setting the fastest time for the Mystic Lake Northlands Futurity at Canterbury Park.

The 10 fastest, from 33 head of 2-year-old Quarter Horses who participated in four trials races, will return to Canterbury Park on Wednesday, August 11th to vie for the winner's share of $137,100 purse going 350 yards.

Under jockey Nik Goodwin, Eye Live For Candy put in a sharp effort in the opening trial, clearing the field by 1-½ lengths to stop the click in :18.181 seconds, an 83 speed index into a 25 mph headwind. The brown filly came into the trials off a second-place effort in the maiden race at Canterbury Park July 7th.

Trainer Jason Pascoe conditions the Wyoming-bred filly for owner Milena Kwiecien. Bred by Klay Hinck, from the Eyesa Special mare Eyesa Candy Maker, Eye Liver Candy has earned $8,530.

Tres Elegance was a 1-¼ length winner in the third trial under jockey L. Martinez to get the second fastest clocking of :18.184 seconds, an 83 speed index into a 25 mph headwind. It was the second career win in four starts for the Ed Hardy trainee.

Angelica Aleman-Rodriguez owns the Oklahoma-bred son of Tres Seis. Flag Rach LLC bred the bay colt from the Mr Jess Perry mare Ja Jess Elegance. True Elegance broke his maiden at Remington Park on May 21st and has banked $24,836 in four starts.

Trainer Jason Olmstead saddled four qualifiers—5th fastest Nvincable, 6th fastest Bring Back My Vodka, 8th fastest Maudest Maven and 10th fastest Hes Tuff Enuff.
