Fastest Qualifier Cracklin Rosie Dominates Northern Plains Futurity Final

BELCOURT, ND—JUNE 26, 2022—Fastest qualifier Cracklin Rose returned to Chippewa Downs on Sunday to crush the field with a two-length win in the $20,830 Northern Plains Futurity.

Ridden by jockey Uriel Cervantes, Cracklin Rosie completed the 350 yards in :18.200 seconds, equaling an 89 speed index on a track surface rated "good".  

It was the second win in as many starts for the daughter of Ima Ramblin On. The sorrel filly broke her maiden in the June 12th trials when she rolled a 4-3/4 win to become the fastest qualifier.

Cole Wilson trains the North Dakota-bred filly for owner The Girls. Bred by Leon Glasser, from the Mighty Invictus mare Ms Veronica, Cracklin Rosie earned $10,418 to increase her bankroll to $11,918.

Kool Charly, under jockey Eric Snodgrass, put in a good effort to take home $4,791 for second. Owned-and-trained by Blaine Decoteau, the son of Captain Toshky is out of the Kool Charts mare Rockin Charts. Doug Demontigny is the breeder.

Dcr All Fired Up finished 1-1/2 lengths back to pick up $2,708 for third. Bill Geditz trains the North Dakota homebred for owner-breeder Amanda Haar. Giovany Estrada had the riding call on the gray son of Fire Breathing Wagon from the Its Royal Time mare Madam Doubtfire.

Miss Vals Corona, Ima Flashy Corona, Jesses Easy Memory, Brace Heart Courage and Jennas Quick Jess completed the field.
