Mr Tres Effort Heads New Mexico State Fair QH Juvenile Trifecta For Trainer Eric Valenzuela

Mr Tres Effort Heads New Mexico State Fair QH Juvenile Trifecta For Trainer Eric Valenzuela

ALBUQUERQUE, NM—SEPTEMBER 25, 2022—Multiple stakes finalist Mr Tres Effort got his first career stakes win on Sunday when he defeated stablemate Jess A Response by a three-quarters in the $100,000 New Mexico State Fair QH Juvenile.

Doing Something Right finished a neck back to give trainer Eric Valenzuela a trifecta in the 400 yard race for 2-year-old New Mexico Bred juveniles.

Mr Tres Effort dueled early then edged away under jockey Luis Flores-Garcia, completing the task in :19.958 seconds, a 92 speed index into a 15 mph crosswind. It was the third career win in seven starts for the son of multiple stakes sire Tf Featured Effort.

Valenzuela conditions the New Mexico homebred for owner-breeder Carlos Paez. Bred from the Desirio mare Beyond 15, Mr Tres Effort picked up $58,000 to nearly double his earnings to $95,002. He was fourth in the New Mexican Spring Futurity(RG3) and the Zia QH Juvenile earlier this year.

Also from the Valenzuela barn, runner-up Jess A Response earned $20,000 for his runner-up effort. Mike Abraham and Cheryl Stokes own the son of Jess A Chicks from the First Moonflash mare Miss Call Me First. Sergio Becerra, Jr. had the riding call aboard the $1,827 earner.

Doing Something Right, a son of first-crop sire Eye Am King, finished a neck back to completed the Juvenile trifecta for Valenzuela.  Empire Racing and Pavon Racing LLC own the 2-year-old gelding out of Start Somethin Bad by Pappasito. A finalist in the New Mexico Spring Futurity(RG2) in April, Doing Something Right picked up $10,000 to increase his earnings to $31,401. MJ Farms is the breeder.

Cartel Superstar, Demi Leigh, Wahine, Jess Stevie, Jenavi, Easy ON The Eye and Big Daddy Forever completed the field.
