Eyesa Special Moxy (#1) battles Game For Corona Hot (#8) to get the fastest qualifying time for the $60,000-est. Wyoming Bred QH Derby at Energy Downs 307 Racing.

GILLETTE, WY—JUNE 3, 2023—After going winless in 10 starts at 2, Eyesa Special Moxy broke her maiden today with a neck win over Yo Barely A Glance to set the fastest qualifying time for the $60,000-est. Wyoming Bred QH Derby at Energy Downs 307 Racing.

The 10 fastest qualifiers will return to Energy Downs on Saturday, June 17 to vie for the winner's share of a $60,000-est. purse going 350 yards.

Eyesa Special Moxy broke well under jockey Rick Over and finished best to complete the course in :18.096 seconds into a 15 mph headwind. A finalist in last year's Wyoming All Breed Futurity the black filly has banked $11,107.

Trainer Jesse Villegas conditions the Wyoming-bred for owner-breeder Broken Bones Cattle Company. She is out of the Sixs Charlie Brown mare Lil Charlotte Swirl.

Villegas saddled four of the derby finalists.

Yo Morning Delite was a half-length winner in the opening trial to post the second fastest clocking of :18.106 seconds. Trainer Jess Matt saddled the Brindis Por Cayenne  gelding for owner-breeder Gerald Kaul.

The $22,652 earner is out of Afternoon Delite by Southern Corona. He was fourth in the Wyoming All Breeds Futurity last season.
