LOS ALAMITOS, CA—JANUARY 28, 2020—As part of the track’s 2020 nighttime schedule, Los Alamitos Race Course will not race this Super Bowl weekend. Los Alamitos will be open for daytime simulcasting and on Sunday afternoon will feature a viewing party for the big football game. More information is available at www.losalamitos.com or by calling 714-820-2681. Live racing at the Orange County oval will return on Friday night, February 7 with a first post time of 6 p.m.
Next weekend’s racing action will be headed by the running of the Grade 1 Los Alamitos Winter Derby on Saturday, February 8 and the Grade 1 Brad McKinzie Los Alamitos Winter Championship on Sunday, February 9.
The winner of the Winter Championship will earn the first of eight provisional starting berths to this year’s Champion of Champions. Los Alamitos will not race on two other weekend nights later this year – Easter Sunday on April 12 and on Saturday, July 4.
