Arapahoe Park Begins Racing Again June 8, Changes Made To Protect Health And Welfare

AURORA, CO—JUNE 3, 2020—Arapahoe Park has received approval from state and local authorities, as well as the Colorado Racing Commission, to open on Saturday, June 6, with strict adherence to recommended guidelines for containing the spread of COVID-19. Given the current environment with COVID-19, there will be several significant changes and practices put into place for this racing season to protect the health and safety of everyone at Arapahoe Park.

Live racing will commence on Monday, June 8, but will be done so without any spectators or guests allowed.

There are strict rules pertaining to the backside this season. No one will be allowed to loiter after a race or stay overnight on the backside due to health restrictions placed upon the Division and the track relating to COVID. No guests will be allowed on the backside. Children are also prohibited unless they are helping with the horses or childcare is unavailable.

The Division staff would ask that you complete your yearly validation and vehicle registrations online prior to coming to the park. The validation form is found on the Division of Racing Events website or CLICK HERE to go directly to the online form.

The Division will have limited hours and staffing in the Racing Events office. All licensing issues will be handled by appointment only; no walk-ins will be allowed in the division’s office. If you need a new license, you must make an appointment. If you wait until the last moment, you may not receive the proper licensing required by race time. You can make an appointment by calling 303-690-6910.
