Bryan Candanosa Enjoys 4 Wins In Dash For Cash Trials at Lone Star Park Saturday

GRAND PRAIRIE , TX—SEPTEMBER 18, 2021—Jockey Bryan Candanosa rolled through seven trials for the $200,000-Est. Dash For Cash Derby(G2) on Saturday's Lone Star Park card, racking up a quartet of wins while qualifying three to the finals at the Grand Prairie, Texas racetrack.

In the second trial (Race 3) Candanosa started the night aboard post time favorite Famous Chief to set the fastest qualifying time of :21.553 seconds, defeating Diane To Be A Hero by a head.

In the next race he booted 15-1 longshot Big Dynasty to a head win in :21.590 seconds, the 4th fastest derby trial time. His third win came in the fifth trial (Race 6) aboard 16-1 shot Rocket Queen V, who defeated Whos My Papa by a neck. His final win and qualifier came in the sixth trial (Race 7) aboard Won Famous Dash who posted the 7th fastest qualifying time of :21.682 seconds.

"I'm very happy with all the horses performances tonight in the derby trials," Candanosa said late Saturday night. "I'm extremely fortunate and blessed that I'm getting the opportunity to ride this caliber of horses from the horsemen at Lone Star Park and I'm very much looking forward to riding back in the final."

According to Equibase stats, since 2018 Candanosa has ridden 104 winners and earned more than $1.7 million. His biggest win came aboard Cruzin Cartel in the 2020 Grade 2 TQHA Sale Futurity at Retama Park. He rode Won Famous Dash to victory in the Grade 2 TQHA Classic Stakes. He has also ridden multiple graded winner Stone Cold Leader.

This year Candanosa has compiled a (270) 31-32-30 record and banked $529,833. He will have his pick of four mounts to choose from for October 2nd $200,000-est. Dash For Cash Derby(G2) at Lone Star Park. It would be his biggest career win.
