Three New Members Join The AQHA Racing Council

Three New Members Join The AQHA Racing Council

AMARILLO, TX–JUNE 29, 2022–Three new members were elected to serve on the AQHA Racing Council: Ron Bullock of Aubrey, Texas; Bobby Simmons of Midland, Texas; and track representative Tim Williams.

The new members were elected by members of the AQHA Racing Committee.

Bullock and Simmons are AQHA directors, and Williams will serve as a track representative. Each will serve a three-year term that end in May 2025.

The 10-member Racing Council also includes AQHA Executive Committee Member Jeff Tebow, Racing Committee Chairman G.R. Carter Jr. and members Duayne Didericksen, John Hammes, Lloyd Yother, Ross Brigden and Dr. Larry Findley.

Ron Bullock has been involved in Quarter Horse racing for more than 40 years. Involved in the commercial real estate business, Bullock is serving his second term on the Racing Committee and believes in supporting the integrity of racing and welfare of the horse to make the industry prosper.

Based in Midland, Texas, owner and breeder Bobby Simmons was a professional roper on the Pro Rodeo circuit and got his first racehorses in 2012 – among them was champion Foxy Moonflash. Both he and his wife, Catherine, have served the industry on a number of committees and are dedicated to helping improve the industry.

Williams has been involved in racing for more than four decades, including time as both a trainer and a jockey. He has served a number of positions in the racing office and operations, including his current position as the director of racing at Remington Park. He has been an accredited Racing Officials Accreditation Program Steward since 2008 and has served on several AQHA committees, including the AQHA Racing Committee.
