A $50,000 supplemental entry, Houdini won the first trial in :21.233. Houdini now has won four of five starts, his only blemish being when he finished a very close second by a nose to Coronado Cartel in the April 20 Remington Park Oklahoma Bred Futurity (R). Houdini came into the All American trials off the July 5 trials to the Rainbow Futurity (G1), when he scored by 1 1/2 lengths but in a time that failed to qualify for the final.
Houdini was bred by Ellen Kennedy of Owasso, Oklahoma. In 40 years of breeding American Quarter Horses, Kennedy has been represented by 109 starters and the earners of more than $3.86 million from 113 named foals.
