ELGIN, TX–NOVEMBER 7, 2025–The Texas Quarter Horse Association (TQHA) has announced that the next payment for the 2026 Texas Breeders Futurity is due on Monday, November 17, 2025. The payment amount is $500.
According to TQHA Director of Racing Scott Sherwood, the due date was adjusted to November 17 since the 15th falls on a Saturday. All mailed payments must be postmarked on or before November 17 to remain eligible.

LEXINGTON, KY–NOVEMBER 6, 2025–The Permanently Disabled Jockeys Fund (PDJF) is proud to announce the appointment of Craig Bandoroff and Ken Freirich to its Board of Directors. Their addition marks another step forward in PDJF's ongoing mission to support jockeys who have suffered catastrophic on-track injuries.
Craig Bandoroff, founder of Denali Stud in Paris, Kentucky and a former jockey, is a well-respected leader in the Thoroughbred industry. Although he has stepped back from the day-to-day operations of Denali, now handled by his son, Conrad, he continues to serve on the horsemen's advisory board of HISA and is on the Executive Committee of the Thoroughbred Aftercare Alliance.

GRAND PRAIRIE, TX—NOVEMBER 3, 2025—Lone Star Park officials have announced key end-of-meet dates for horsemen as the 2025 season winds down.
According to a notice from the track’s racing department, the final day of training at Lone Star Park will be Saturday, November 15, followed by the last day for stabling on Saturday, November 22. Horsemen are encouraged to make the necessary arrangements ahead of these dates.

Latest Update: Debris Removal Begins at Ruidoso Downs
RUIDOSO DOWNS, NM–OCTOBER 31, 2025–Heavy Equipment operators are removing more than 400,000 cubic yards of dirt and debris at Ruidoso Downs Race Track as cleanup from this summer’s flooding events began this week.
“We’ve seen plenty of digging already,” General Manager Rick Baugh said. “There are mounds of dirt and debris that are being removed from the riverbanks, racing surface, the barn area and throughout the complex.”
The racetrack received approval from FEMA yesterday for the cleanup work to begin. Crews are using bulldozers, long-arm excavators, loaders, and dirt haulers to continuously remove the debris.

SHELBYVILLE, IN–OCTOBER 28, 2025–The Indiana Horse Racing Commission (IHRC) met for its quarterly meeting on Monday, October 27. On the agenda was the approval of racing dates for both Horseshoe Indianapolis and Harrah's Hoosier Park. Both proposals were unanimously approved, with racing returning next year on Tuesday, April 7, at Horseshoe Indianapolis.
Horseshoe Indianapolis is set to offer 123 days of live racing from Tuesday, April 7, through Friday, November 13, 2026. The majority of the schedule will be held Monday through Thursday, with a first post of 2:10 p.m., with six days reserved for all Quarter Horse action during the season.
