Giles Trained Cc Kachina Eagle Rolls To Top Time in Rich Texas Classic Futurity Trials

GRAND PRAIRIE, TX—OCTOBER 25, 2014—Trainer Jill Giles continued her dominance in the Texas Classic series at Lone Star Park on Saturday night. After saddling two qualifiers, including the fastest, for the Grade 1 Texas Classic Derby on Friday night, she got the top qualifier Saturday night to the $860,519Texas Classic Futurity(G1) for two-year-olds.

The 10 fastest, from 113 head who participated in 12 trial races on Saturday's card, will return to Lone Star Park on closing night, Saturday, November 15 and vie for the winner's share of the richest horse race in Texas.

Coming off her only off-the-board performance in her last start, the All American Juvenile Invitational on Labor Day, Cc Kachina Eagle romped to an unchallenged 1¼ length win in ninth trial to post the top mark of :19.599 seconds, a 94 speed index.

The One Famous Eagle filly, purchased by owner Melvin Neugebauer for $19,000 in the 2013 September Heritage Place Yearling Sale, put out a powerful effort under jockey Jorge Bourdieu to get her third career win from six starts this season.

Another Heritage Place September Yearling, Lethal Strike defeated Bay Eagle Glory by a neck in the seventh trial to post the second fastest time of :19.603. It was the second win in just three starts for the lightly raced son of Corona Cartel owned by In Ca Hoots Racing and trained by C. Dwayne Gilbreath.

P.K. Thomas bred the $110,000 yearling in Oklahoma from the Dean Miracle mare Lethal Delight. He is a half-brother to 2014 All American Futurity winner Jm Miracle. Lethal Strike broke his maiden at Lone Star Park on October 3 with a powerful 1½ length effort.
