PHOENIX, AZ—OCTOBER 15, 2017—Second-crop sire Texas Icon dominated Sunday's AQRA Futurity Trials at Turf Paradise on Sunday. The son of leading sire Corona Cartel sired four of the 10 qualifiers including fastest qualifier Texas Tornadoe.

Jockey Andres Osuana rode the daughter of Texas Icon to a neck win over Pirteville Cartel in the first of two trials to get the top qualifying mark of :17.890 seconds.

Coming off a maiden-claiming win at Los Alamitos Race Course in her last start August 25th, the brown filly bobbled the start but recovered for trainer Raul Valenzuela to get the win and top qualifying mark.
