				HOBBS, NM—OCTOBER 6, 2019—Illtakeyouforaride, under jockey Kelsi Purcell, held off a fast closing Spit Prize Curl by a neck in the $50,000 Grade 3 Herman Jefferson Stakes Sunday afternoon at Zia Park. Mahoney N Tacklebery finished 1-¼ lengths behind the leaders in third.
Trainer Michael Joiner saddled Illtakeyouforaride to his second stakes win of the year for owner Illtakeyouforaride Partnership. The 5-year-old son of world champion sire FDD Dynasty won the Bill Reed Memorial Stakes at Ruidoso Downs in August.
Illtakeyouforaride completed the 870 yards in :46.308 seconds, equaling a 90 speed index.
Bred in Texas by Kirk M. Goodfellow, from the Mr Jess Perry mare Dashinfordestiny, Illtakeyouforaride has compiled a (19) 5-4-5 record and the $29,700 Herman Jefferson winners' purse boosted his bankroll to $91,970.

Ry Eiklebery had the riding call aboard third-place finisher Mahoney N Tacklebery for owner Ben Peterson and trainer Todd Fincher. Making his first start since finishing fourth in the AQHA Distance Challenge Championship(G1) last November, the stakes winner has earned $173,409.
Spencer Peterson bred the 5-year-old Favorite Cartel gelding in Utah from the Jess Louisiana Blue mare Fountain Bleu.
Zoomin Racer, J Boy A, D E Wagons Strawfly and Sin Tachas First completed the field.
