Jockey Jake Samuels Boots Home A Riding Triple At Portland Meadows

PORTLAND, ORóDECEMBER 6, 2017óJockey Jake Samuels pulled a hat trick Tuesday at Portland Meadows by guiding home three winners on the card.

Samuels struck first with Bobby Magic in the opening race of the day by navigating the son of Thorn Song from last to first in the six-furlong dash. The fast track time was 1:12:93 as Bobby Magic won the contest in the final jump at the wire for Trainer Darlene Braden.

Samuels proceeded to pick off the second half of the Early Double with Staracrossthewater who took the lead to stay at the far turn in the five and one half furlong sprint. The winning time was 1:07:51 for Trainer Mike Thompson.

The young equine pilot would later cap off the day with a score in the ninth race atop Arigato who had the early lead in the five and one-half furlong dash before being headed by Semper Gumby in the stretch run only to come back and win by two and a half lengths going away. Arigato is Trained by Tim Abraham for Deadpool Racing.

The victory completed a triple on the day for Jockey Jake Samuels, who also rides Quarter Horses at in the Pacific Northwest.

Samuels qualified two horses, L Bar D Razle Dazle and Corona B Gone, to the $15,000-added Baxter Andruss Futurity at Portland Meadows on November 26.

The 400 yard Baxter Andruss final for Oregon-bred 2-Year-Old Quarter Horses is scheduled for Sunday December 17.

Racing at Portland Meadows will resume on Monday, December 11th with a 12 noon (PST) post time.
