GRAND ISLAND, NE—JUNE 5, 2018—Fonner Park announced this week that Chris Kotulak who has been with Remington Park the past 7 years, will return to the Grand Island Nebraska racetrack as the new Chief Operating Officer.

Kotulak was the track announcer at Fonner from 1986 until 1994.

"I think it’s a nice opportunity for Chris and Fonner," Fonner Park CEO Bruce Swihart told Bob Hamar of The Grand Island Independent. "Chris and Fonner go back a long ways, back to when he began his announcing career. He’s had a lot of experience in the racing field. He brings a lot of other talents to the field as well. We’re extremely pleased that he’s going to join our staff."

Kotulak told Hamar Swihart was one of the main reasons he decided to leave Remington Park in Oklahoma City and return to Grand Island.

"A major selling point was to be able to work here under Bruce because he and I worked here for 11 years together and we never had a cross word amongst us," Kotulak said. "He and I can work together to help promote Fonner Park."

Kotulak worked for 11 years on the Nebraska racing circuit, calling races and marketing at Fonner Park, Ak-Sar-Ben in Omaha, State Fair Park in Lincoln and Ag Park in Columbus. He left Nebraska to call races at Louisiana Downs and has also worked as a full-time track announcer at Hollywood Park and Delta Downs.

In 2003 he went to work for Television Games Network (TVG), a horse racing and wagering television network in Los Angeles. Since 2011 he served as a television analyst and marketing and communications assistant for Remington Park in Oklahoma City.
