BOSSIER CITY, LA—JANUARY 26, 2019— Oklahoma-bred Bileve made the most of her first trip to Louisiana Downs, scoring her first career stakes win in the 350-yard $15,000 Swift Stakes, the first of a stakes double-header on Saturday at the racetrack.

Owned by Fernando Beltran Rodriguez, the 5-year-old mare sired by Stel Corona was bred in Oklahoma by Brad J. Hart. She exited an allowance win at Lone Star on November 2, breaking sharply from the far outside post under jockey Edgar Ibarra to win by a neck over Fast N Famous Eagle. The final time, over a fast track, was :17.671, a 96 speed index into a 7 mph crosswind.

Joe M. Davis’ Fast N Famous Eagle, winner of the $15,000 Harrah’s Dash on opening weekend, ran second, surviving a trainer’s objection for veering into the center of the track from his rail post position. Leading rider Everardo Rodriguez had the return call.

Sent off as the second betting choice, Bileve paid $7.40 for the win. Sunset Run was third under Jorge Linares.

Trained by Xavier Alonso, this was the fifth win from 20 starts for the sorrel mare. With today’s $9,000 winner’s check, Bileve has now won $48,063. She is out of the Chicks Beduino mare Dashin Rosie Cheeks.

Runner-up Fast N Famous Eagle is a 6-year-old son of leading sire One Famous Eagle from the Heza Fast Man mare One Fast Kisser. The multiple stakes winner earned $3,000 to bring his bankroll to $177,577.

Jesse Rodriguez, Jr. saddled third-place finisher Sunset Run for owner Jose Alfonso Ramos. Jim Streelman and Bill Dale bred the 4-year-old FDD Dynasty gelding in Missouri from the Mr Jess Perry mare Summer Love Song. Jorge Linares was aboard the stakes winner of more than $95,200.

Sixes Flash, Wrs Quick Jess, Mariachy King and One Sweet Merlot completed the Swift Stakes field.
