Multiple Stakes Sire First Prize Perry Euthanized

KAPLAN, LA—OCTOBER 11, 2016—Hart Farms and Bobby D. Cox's Grade 1 placed and multiple stakes sire First Prize Perry SI 102 was euthanized recently due to complications from an injury.

From six crops to race, the 12-year-old son of Mr Jess Perry sired 112 winners, 11 stakes horses (11%), earners of more than $4 million with average earnings per starter of more than $21,300.

His top performers include Scooter Prize SI 105 (10 wins to 5, $327,695 Vinton Stakes-G3, etc.), First Prize Copy SI 106 (12 wins to 5, $192,723 Delta 550 Stakes-G3, etc.), Lets Jess Do It SI 107 (7 wins to 6, $178,020 Flying Breed S., etc.), Jls Book Of Psalms SI 99 (5 wins to 5, $138,879 Virgil Bond 870 S., etc.), Sir Prize SI 103 (8 wins to 5, $129,045 2nd Vinton Stakes-G3, etc.), Allizoom SI 102 (7 wins to 4, $113,016 2nd Par-A-Dice Stakes, etc.), etc.

Bred in Oklahoma by Weetona Stanley, First Prize Perry won or placed seven of eight career starts while earning $243,946. His was second in the Grade1 Texas Classic Futurity at Lone Star Park.

His dam is the "blue hen" full sister to all-time leading sire First Down Dash, Fast Prize Dash SI 101, the dam of 29 ROM and 10 stakes horses. First Prize Perry is a brother to Grade 1 winners First Prize Leesa SI 106 ($488,270), First Carolina SI 106 ($416,047) and First Prize Robin SI 103 ($295,147) and a half-brother to Grade 2 winner and leading sire Heza Fast Dash SI 103.
