VINTON, LA—MAY 24, 2013— In other stakes activity on the Delta Downs Friday program it was Eric P. Johnson’s Fast Talkin Henry who set a new stakes record while winning the $40,000 Louisiana Purchase Stakes under jockey John Hamilton.

Fast Talkin Henry defeated Fance Oak Tree by a length and covered 350 yards in 17.203, which equaled a speed index of 102. Champions Passage finished another head back in third.

Heath Taylor trains fast Talkin Henry. The $24,000 winner's purse boosted the gelding's earnings mark to $124,286 with a 4-0-1 record in six starts. The 3-year-old is by leading sire Heza Fast Dash, out of the Streakin La Jolla mare Streakin Cindy. Russell P. Mowad bred him in Louisiana.

Alejandro Moya's Fance Oak Tree picked up $8,000 for her second place effort. Erasmo Hernandez conditions with Raul Ramirez, Jr. getting the riding call. Carlos Bejarano bred bred the Oak Tree Special gelding from the Reckless Dash mare Fance Loretta.

Champions Passage is a Storm Passage(TB) gelding owned by Kellie Hebert and trained by Randy Hebert. Ridden by Antonio Alberto, the brown gelding earned $4,400 for the effort. Denis Miller bred Champions Passage from the Mr Jess Perry mare Miss Jessie Bug.

Completing the course were Cougar Hill, Oak Tree Corona, Ab Game Effort, Shezadashinatcha, Corona Dashin Bye and Dashin Fireball. Haystretcher was scratched.

Delta Downs will wrap up the race week on Saturday with a 10-race program that begins at 6:45 p.m.
