Valiant Hero Filly Tops Remington Schooling Races Wednesday
Shaky Hero defeated Persistent Pyc in the first of 10 schooling races held at Remington Park on Wednesday to get the fastest clocking.

Valiant Hero Filly Tops Remington Schooling Races Wednesday

OKLAHOMA CITY, OK—MARCH 11, 2015—Trainer Kenny Laymon saddled three winners for JK Running Horses, LLC, including the fastest clocking, during schooling races for two-year-olds held today (Wednesday) at Remington Park.

Shaky Hero, a filly by leading sire Valiant Hero from the Grade 3 winning Embrjuo Fg mare Shaky Girl, drove late to gain neck victory over Persistent Pyc in the first race. She scored the top 250 yard clocking of :13.42 seconds over the 75 head who participated.

Shaky Hero's dam, Shaky Girl earned $132,913 and won the Central Distaff Challenge(G3). She is a sister to stakes winner Shaky Embryo ($135,614) and half-sister to the dam of G2 winner Jess A Runner ($298,741), etc.

Persistent Pyc battled throughout for the lead but settled for the second fastest time of :13.45 seconds for owner Brian Levings and trainer Gerald Reed.

The Pyc Paint Your Wagon colt sold for $57,000 under the name Jessapaintedwagon in the September Heritage Place Yearling Sale. He was consigned by Robicheaux Ranch, Inc. Agent for Leroy Janacek, Jr. He is out of the RG3 winning and stakes producing Mr Jess Perry mare Windy Perry ($44,983).

Laymon and JK Running Horses, LLC's second winner came in the third race when Walk Thru Kansas posted a :13.47 clocking. The Walk Thru Fire colt was always in control. Asked midway to keep his mind on business the colt responded with a 1˝ length winning effort.

Walk Thru Kansas, who had been a $25,000 repurchase as a foal-in-utero at the 2014 Los Alamitos Equine Sale, is out of the multiple stakes producing Strawfly Special mare Special Copaunio. Walk Thru Kansas is a brother to Kindergarten Futurity(G2) third place finisher Hot Capuccino ($35,517).

Stop The Commotion and Patriot Pearl posted identical times of :13.52 seconds after winning races 5 and 8 respectively.

Hand ridden throughout, Stop The Commotion responded in a profession effort for her trainer Gerald Reed in Race 5. The $15,000 Ruidoso Summer Sale graduate races for owner Lyle Guillory. A daughter of leading sire Tres Seis, Stop The Commotion is out of the stakes winning First Down Dash mare Start The Commotion and is a half-sister to multiple stakes winner and track record holder One Tough Dude ($238,655).

This is the family of multiple stakes winner Joker On Jack ($372,980), etc. JEH Stallion Station, Agent was the consignor.

Patriot Pearl prevailed in Race 8 despite creeping outward over the second half of the course. He was a $9,000 purchase from the Ruidoso Sale for Bobby Simmons from the Robicheaux Ranch, Inc. Agent consignment.

Trainer Kasey Willis, who had two winners on Wednesday's schooling card, trains the Game Patriot colt is out the Mr Jess Perry mare First Prize Pearl. She is an unraced sister to G1 winners First Prize Leesa, First Carolina and First Prize Robin. From only two foals to race First Prize Pearl is the dam of 2014 Black Gold Futurity Championship(RG3) winner First Prize Dive ($150,440 at 2).
