Dominque Wins Second Race Of Season, Sunday Feature At Remington Park

OKLAHOMA CITY, OK—MAY 3, 2015—In March, Dominique handled a sloppy track for her first win of the Remington Park season. Sunday afternoon under sunny skies and over a fast track, she picked up her second triumph in the $28,500 allowance feature.

Owned by Melissa Tovar of Wichita, Kan. and trained by Jose Aguilera, Dominique was ridden by Ramiro Garcia. The 3-year-old filly started well, then managed to win by a half-length from her inside rail post position. She handled 330 yards in :17.016 seconds.

Dominique was at 7-2 odds in the betting and paid $9 to win, $5.20 to place and $3.20 to show. A Royal Fling was the runner-up, paying $9 to place and $5.40 to show. A Tempting Tea was three-quarters of a length behind the winner, paying $3.40 to show. Red Heiress was the beaten 8-5 wagering favorite, finishing last after attempting to buck in the opening strides of the race.

The win for Dominique was her third from 10 career starts. She is an Oklahoma-bred daughter of Ivory James from the Heza Fast Man mare Blaze The Mall. The victory was worth $16,990 for Dominique who moved her total earnings to $47,152.
