Heza A Royal Jess Sets Top Mark In AQRA-Turf Paradise Open QH Futurity

PHOENIX, AZ—NOVEMBER 22, 2015—Jockey Albert Medrano rode Heza A Royal Jess to the fastest qualifying time from three trials on Sunday to the AQRA-Turf Paradise Open QH Futurity at Turf Paradise. The Mr Jess Perry gelding stopped the clock in :19.860 seconds for the 400 yards, a 97-speed index, to record the top mark.

The 10 fastest two-year-olds from today's trails will return to Turf Paradise on Sunday, December 13 to vie for the winner's share of a $17,500-added purse.

Pedro Hernandez Sandoval saddled Heza A Royal Jess to his third win in five starts this season for owner/breeder H and E Ranch, Inc. The stakes-placed Arizona-bred is out the Royal Quick Dash mare Im Royal Satin.

The earner of nearly $16,000 was second by a head in his last start in the $42,275 President's Open Fall Futurity.

Owner-breeder-trainer Raymond Felix saddled Jess Call Me Fancy to a half-length win in the first trial to post the second fastest time of :19.928 seconds, a 96 speed index. Martin Osuna rode the daughter of Jess Give It Em to her second career win from seven starts. She is out of the Royal Quick Dash mare Monique Quick Cash.

Winner of the aforementioned President's Open Fall Futurity in her last start, Shoulda Kissed Me won the final trial for owner Jose Gallardo and trainer Jim Crotts. Carlos Marquez rode the FDD Dynasty filly to the fourth fastest time of :19. 950 seconds. Bred in California by Christian and Ru Anna Singletary, the sorrel filly has earned nearly $30,000 this season. She is out of the Corona Cartel mare Love My Corona.

Stakes winner Royaltys Lady finished second to the fastest qualifier to post the third fastest time of :19.928 seconds. Ricardo Saldana saddled the Royaltys Choice filly out of Significant Lady, by Relagate (TB). Uriel Dominguez was aboard the A Regal Choice, Inc. California-bred.
