HAZEL PARK, MI—SEPTEMBER 1, 2017— Toughdashingangel raced to his second stakes win at Hazel Park on Friday night when he defeated Takin On Cartel by three-quarters in the $22,500 Hazel Park Futurity 2.

Last month the son of Dashair won the $15,000 Hazel Park Futurity.

Ridden by jockey Natasha Fritz, Toughdashingangel completed the 300 yards in :16.092 seconds into a 3 mph crosswind. It was the third win four starts for the Michigan-bred colt and the $13,500 winners' purse doubled his career mark to $27,845.

Trainer Mallory Norton saddled the sorrel colt for owner Sylvia Tello. Ronnie Fish bred Toughdashingangel from the Timetoget Tuff mare Tuff Ladys.

Runner-up Takin On Cartel is leased by Kelli Eggleston and trained by Tim Eggleston. Kelly Spanabel was aboard the Cartel Feature filly out of Miss Cash Buck by Takin On The Cash. Winless in two starts, the bay filly earned $4,500 for the effort. Darrel Henry is the breeder.

Clickerslittledasher finished a neck back in third for trainer Mallory Norton and owner/breeder Ronnie Fisk. The daughter of Dashair, from the Dash Thru Traffic mare Shes Just A Chicken, was ridden by Rogelio Romero-Diaz. She picked up $2,475.

Wh Fast Man, King Offthe Mountain, Fishin Feature and Peggyslittlehustler completed the field.
