Dashin Country Honey Much The Best In Rocky Mountain Spring Classic Appaloosa & Paint Futurity

POCATELLO, ID—MAY 27, 2018—Under jockey Santiago Jimenez Dashin Country Honey (PT) shot from the gate then extended her lead to 2-½ lengths over Bg Gimme Your Cash (AP) in the $10,000 Rocky Mountain Spring Classic Appaloosa & Paint Futurity at Pocatello Downs Saturday.

Conditioned by Alvaro Torres, Dashin Country Honey completed the 330 yard course in a quick :17.117 clocking to earn a 92 speed index into a 5 mph crosswind.

It was the first win in two starts for the daughter of Dashin Country Quick who entered the finals with the thrid fastest time after finishing a neck off the aforementioned Bg Gimme Your Cash in the May 13th trials.

The Wyoming-bred 2-year-old Paint filly races for owner Steve G. Berry. Bred by Todd Lacey, from the Pure D Dash mare Pure D Honey, Dashin Country Honey has banked $4,725 from her two career starts.

Runner-up Bg Gimme Your Cash, an Idaho-bred Appaloosa son of Takin The Cash, races for owner/breeder Becky Grant. Darric Grant saddled the chestnut gelding out of WW Shubop Shubop by Osceola Warrior. Ridden by jockey Todd Thomas, Bg Gimme Your Cash earned $2,000 for the effort.

Moonlight Luv, under jockey Cordarelton Benn, finished three-quarters back to earn $1,000 for third-place. Jeremy Price conditions the Idaho-bred Paint daughter of leading Oklahoma sire CRM Livewire from the Darkelly mare Moonlight Kelly. C & T Horses is the owner/breeder of Moonglight Luv.

Tisa Quicky, Bg Almstgotawawithit, Tisa About Time, Roani Ohs, Cowboy Par Te On and Blue Stable Diva completed the field. Rs Ettas Classichonor was scratched.
