Tempting Futuro Best in Wyoming All Breed Racing Association Maturity Trials

GILLETTE, WY—JUNE 10, 2018—Tempting Futuro, a 5-year-old son of champion sire Tempting Dash, defeated Tdm Big Shooter by a nose Sunday to get the fastest qualifying time for the $10,000-added Wyoming All Breed Racing Association Maturity at Energy Downs.

The 10 fastest qualifiers, from two trial races contested, will return to the Gillette, Wyoming racetrack on Sunday, June 24 to vie for the winner's share of a purse going 400 yards.

Ridden by jockey Luis Peralta, Tempting Futuro completed the task in :19.731 seconds, a 110 speed index with a 10 mph tailwind. It was the 4th career win for the sorrel gelding.

Tempting Futuro was the first of three qualifiers saddled by trainer Jesse Villegas. Owner Pedro Mena also owns fifth fastest qualifier Apollitical Winga.

Marco Antonio Baez Rodriguez bred Tempting Futuro from the Feature Mr Jess mare La Futura. A finalist in the Wyoming-Bred Derby at 3 and Wyoming Maturity last season, Tempting Futuro has banked $12,755.

Multiple stakes winner Tdm Big Shooter, under jockey Oscar Cervatnes, just missed but settled for the second fastest time of :19.742 seconds, a 109 speed index.

Trainer Steve Morgan conditions the 5-year-old Coronas Velvet gelding out of Tru Socialite by Mr Eye Opener. Owned by Tyson Morgon the $50,460 winner was bred Mike Lipp.

Tdm Big Shooter won last year's Wyoming All Breed Maturity as well as the Wyoming Bred Futurity, Wyoming Bred Derby and Wyoming All-Breed Derby. He has compiled a (22) 11-2-3 record.

Trainer Skyler Greene saddled Vvr Dazzling Corona to a half-length victory in the second trial to get the third fastest clocking of :19.870 seconds at 106 speed index.

Daniel Carrillo had the riding call aboard the multiple stakes winning daughter of Corona Velvet. Casey Albert Lipp owns the 4-year-old mare bred by Mike Lipp. Out of the Dash To Chivato mare Dazzling Chivata, Vvr Dazzling Corona has earned $30,075. She won the Wyoming All-Bred Derby—Div.1, Sweetwater Wyoming Bred Derby and the Wyoming Bred Derby last season.

Multiple stakes sire Brindis Por Cayenne sired three of 10 finalist. Coronas Velvet was the only other sire with more than one qualifier getting two.
