EVANSTON, WY—JULY 7, 2018— Eyesa Special Marvel (20-1) held off SS Happy dance by a nose to win the $43,900 Wyoming Bred Futurity Sunday afternoon at Wyoming Downs. Fastest qualifier Vvr Dont Sugarcoatit finished another nose back in a blanket finish to get third.

Ridden by jockey Cordarelton Benn, Eyesa Special Marvel raced over the 300 yards in :15.384 seconds, a 99 speed index with an 8 mph tailwind. It was the second win five starts this season and the $20,633 winner's purse boosted the Eyesa Special Slim gelding's earnings to $24,888.

Trainer Jesse Villegas saddled the winner for owner Juanita Villegas. Bred by Broken Bones Cattle Co., Eyesa Special Marvel is out of the First N Six mare Cute Suki Brown.

Runner-up Ss Happy Dance picked up $7,902 for her second-place effort. Owned-and-trained by Stan Young, the daughter of SS Showboat was ridden by jockey Leonardo Gonzalez. A homebred for Young, the bay filly is out of Eagle Nation by Stoli.

Diana Garfias saddled Vvr Dont Sugarcoatit to his third-place effort for owner Carter Garfias. Oscar Cervantes rides the Corona Velvet daughter of Highheeled La Jolla by Streakin La Jolla. She earned $4,829 and increased her earnings to more than $11,000. Vvr Dont Sugarcoatit was also a finalist in the Wyoming All Breeds Racing Association Futurity at Energy Downs last month.

Eyesa Special Marvel returned $40.40 to win, $10.30 to place and $5.20 to show. Ss Happy Dance paid $8.40 to place and $5 to show and Vvr Dont Sugarcoatit returned $4 to show.

Fame Creek, Chloes Smoke N Fame, Wind River Version, Dashin Country Honey, Tiny Flyin Moves and Dashing Stone completed the field.
