SELMA, TX—JULY 27, 2018—Stormy Fisher’s Sf Hot Pass won the night’s richest race of the Friday night card, the $39,750 TQHA Classic Stakes. Breaking from the rail under leading Retama Park jockey Francisco Calderon, the 5-year-old son of Ivory James captured his first career stakes in :19.612 seconds, earning a 105 speed index.

Trained by Leon Bard, Sf Hot Pass was making his first start since September 23 at Zia Park. He returned from the layoff in fine form, breaking strongly and never relinquishing his lead, winning by a margin of 1-¾ lengths. This was the 12th career start for the Texas-bred gelding, who made his debut in trials for the Rainbow Futurity at Ruidoso Downs.

Bred by P & J Racing LTD and D. Stroebel, Sf Hot Pass is out of the Mr Jess Perry mare Passem Up Perry. He has compiled a (12) 3-2-0 record and tonight's $23,650 winner's purse nearly doubled his earnings total to $43,130.
