Thoroughbreds Run 1-2 in Wyoming Downs 870 Handicap

EVANSTON, WY—AUGUST 4, 2019—Thoroughbreds got the best of Quarter Horses in the $10,250 Wyoming Downs 870 Handicap (not black type) on Sunday with Mrshakey (TB) posting a 2-˝ length win over Successful Bluff (TB). Alma The Younger finished 1-˝ lengths back to take third.

Mrshakey, an 11-yaer-old son of Top Hit, was ridden by jockey Uriel Dominguez for trainer Kash Evans. The dark bay gelding too charge early and completed the 870 yards in :44.958 seconds, a 103 speed index.

Owned by Tammy Evans, Mrshakey was bred in Arizona from Almost by Fool The Experts by Triple AAA Ranch. He is a nine-time winner against Thoroughbreds and has beaten the Quarters four times. He earned $6,150 for the effort .

Runner-up Successful Bluff is a Virginia-bred son of Successful Appeal racing Spackman Racing. Tyson Lusk had the riding call for trainer K.C. Spackman. Hart Farm bred the gelding from the Lil's Lad mare Shy Lil.

Alma The Younger, a Utah-bred son of Attila's Storm (TB,) out of Jc A Special Spirit by Special Leader, was saddled by trainer Travis Offret. Elliot Bachicha, Jr. had the riding call for owners Tom Peffer and John Martin Jr. Magdalene Cummings is the breeder.

Kiss Kate Barlow, Another Bumper and Our Little Diamond completed the field.
