POCATELLO, ID—JUNE 24, 2020—Fortunes Wild Blood, with Nakia Ramirez aboard, dueled with fastest qualifier The Prize Ferarri to take the $25,500 Crush the Curve Futurity at Pocatello on Wednesday evening.
Fortunes Wild Blood ($20.20) covered the 300-yard stake in 15.585 and earned a 96 speed index with the win.
Fortunes Wild Blood won his trial for the Crush the Curve Futurity and was the third fastest qualifier. The trial was his first career win; he debuted at Weber in May.
The Apollitical Blood gelding is trained by Jay Pitcher for owners Kelly and Kyle Cook. He was bred in Louisiana by Riley Blanchet, out of the Carters Cartel mare Cartels Fortune.
Fastest qualifier and post-time favorite The Prize Ferarri was close behind in second place with Jesus Canales aboard. The gelded son of The Louisiana Cartel debuted in the trials for Wednesday’s futurity.

The Prize Ferarri is trained by Mark Hanson for owners RTM Stables, Robin Dunn, Kevin Dunn and Byron Goody. He was bred in Oklahoma by Weetona Stanley and is out of the Mr Jess Perry mare Ferarri Fast Prize.
Completing the trifecta was The Prize Ferarri’s stablemate, Jess Dressed in Blue. Benito Baca had the call on the fellow Hanson trainee for owners RTM Stables, Robin Dunn, Larry Chapple and Byron Goody.
Jess Dressed in Blue is an Oklahoma-bred son of Jess Louisiana Blue, bred by Flag Ranch LLC out of Sonny D, by Tempting Dash. He won his trial and was the fourth fastest qualifier.
Completing the field were Wildroses 101, Pattys Saint, El Divo Moves, Bw Easy Wagon, Cartels Breakout and Valientte. Bds Carsons Piston was scratched.
