Im Renee Breaks Maiden In Bitterroot Juvenile

POCATELLO, ID—JULY 31, 2020—Im Renee, under jockey Nakia Ramirez, held off fastest qualifier Shot Byou to win the $8,032 Bitterroot Juvenile by a neck Friday evening at Pocatello Downs.

The daughter of Im Alright Now rolled over the 350 yards in :17.810 seconds, equaling a 90 speed index into a 5 mph crosswind. It was the first win in four starts for Im Renee and she collected $3,212 for her effort.

Trainer David Newbold saddled the Idaho homebred for owner-breeder Tim Parkinson, Jr. Im Renee is out of the White Tie mare Tips Tie.

Runner-up Shot Byou entered the race as the fastest qualifier after posting the 11th fastest time in the July 17th Bitterroot Futurity trials at Pocatello Downs. Riley Moosman conditions the son of first-crop sire Glock for owner-breeder Duane Lindley. The gray gelding out of Bayou A Stone earned $2,161 for this effort.

Quicksome, a gelded son of champion Foose, finished a half-length back in third for owner Brent Farley. David Newbold trains the Edward Allred California-bred out of the A Regal Choice mare Dont Pass Bar. He earned $1,606.

Izzy B Gone, Bravo Delta, Heza Gator, M E Dollop Dilly, Elite Roc Star and Moovin Smoothe completed the field. Df Fabulouscountryjo was scratched.
