Lil Bitts A Dash Leads Elko Intermountain Quarter Horse Futurity Qualifiers

ELKO, NV—AUGUST 28, 2010—David Newbold's Lil Bitts A Dash raced to a one-length victory and the fastest qualifying time on Saturday afternoon during six trials contested for the $46,577 Elko Intermountain Quarter Horse Futurity.

The ten fastest qualifiers will return on Monday, September 6, to contest the 350 yard final at the Elko County Fairgrounds racetrack.

A seasoned stakes qualifier, Lil Bitts A Dash broke in at the start but recovered nicely to post a :17.552 clocking for the 350 yards Under jockey Todd Thomas he earned a speed index of 104 for the effort. The Dashair two-year-old pushed his record to 3-1-1 in seven starts.

Saddled by Jake Newbold, the sorrel gelding has earned more than $12,000 this season finishing third in the Bitterroot Futurity and also qualifying for the John Deere Sandy Downs Juvenile Challenge.

Patterson Livestock bred the bay in Utah out of the Society Road mare A Lil Bitts.

The final trial went to Ms Diamond Runaway who went all out to win by ¾ of a length for the second fastest clocking. The Ocean Runway filly is a home-bred for E.J. Petitti out of the Lanes Leinster mare Bring Me Diamonds.

Trained by Ron Moosman and ridden by Uriel Dominguez, Ms Diamond Runaway completed her task in :17.598 for a 103 speed index. She was also qualifying to her third stakes this season and is 2-1-2 in six starts.

Moosman and Dominguez teamed to qualify four finalists including Eyes A Cherry Cola—3rd, Bf Invincible—6th and Rm Nice Move Here—8th.
