FREDRICKSBURG, TX—AUGUST 29, 2010—The consistent two-year-old Jumpn Shake picked up his first stakes victory, and fifth win, Sunday afternoon in the $167,050 Gillespie County Fair Futurity(G3) at the Gillespie County Fairgrounds.
Racing for Antonio M. Flores, Jumpn Shake got a perfect trip leading wire-to-wire while covering the 350 yards in a quick :17.246 seconds to establish a new track record at the Gillespie County racetrack. The previous record of :17.260 was set just over five years ago on August 28, 2005 by Sambaso Jet.
Under jockey Manuel Garcia, the Jumpn colt won the race by ¾ of a length while running a 112 speed index. Saddled by Joe Rangel, the $58,467 winner's purse pushed his season earnings mark to nearly $100,000.
Bred in California by Dutch Masters III from the Mr Jess Perry mare Jess Shakem, the sorrel colt is 5-0-0 in seven starts this year. His only losses came when he finished fourth in the grade 1 $274,000 Manor Downs Futurity and sixth in the grade 1 $347,000 Sam Houston Futurity.
Flores purchased Jumpn Shake in the September 2009 Heritage Place Yearling Sale for $4,500.
Putting on a big effort, Reba Reba Corona finished a length ahead of the field to finish second while running a 109 speed index. The Corona Cartel colt races for Garcia Bloodstock and Racing.

Fastest qualifier Dale N James settled for third picking up $16,705 for owner Bob McClure. The Okey Dokey Dale gelding is trained by Toby Keeton and ridden by Juan Vazquez.
