SELMA, TX—JULY 30, 2011—Renee Spiller's Triple Vodka raced to his third straight win in as many starts this season in the $400,000 TQHA Sale Futurity(RG2) at Retama Park on Saturday.
Triple Vodka, starting from the 6 post, raced the 350 yards in :17.765 seconds to defeat Hiclass Heat by three-quarters. Acorn In The Grove was third, one length behind Hiclass Heat.

K.A. Norris and Peters Racing bred the Tres Seis colt from the Stoli mare Newport Lily. It is the first foal for the mare that is unplaced in two starts. Spiller purchased Triple Vodka at the 2010 TQHA Sale for $4,600.
From the first crop to race by Hiclass La Jolla, Hiclass Heat is owned by T.C. Flack and trained by Leon Bard. It was the third stakes appearance this season for the gelding ridden by Carlos Madeira. In six starts he has strung together a 3-2-0 record and the $88,000 place check pushed his earnings mark to $100,857.
Flack purchased Hiclass Heat from his breeder's Robert and Karen Nunnally at the TQHA Sale last summer for $7,200. He is out of the Merganser mare Class In Excess, the dam of grade 1 Ruidoso Futurity winner Red Clay of Texas.
James Cordell repurchased Acorn In The Grove for $6,500 at the TQHA Sale last July. Judd Kearl saddled the brown filly with Rodrigo Vallejo getting the riding assignment.
The homebred Oak Tree Special filly out of the Mr Jess Perry mare Sixes Ms Perry earned $44,000 for finishing third. Grade 3 winner Sixes Ms Perry is also the dam of 2011 Merial Sam Houston Distaff winner Ms Riptide.
Completing the field were Hiclass Gas, Glitteratzi, Jess A Comment, Corona Princesa, Runaway Trs Seis and Sarah Must.
