Champion One Famous Eagle Gets First Stakes Winner

GUTHRIE, TX—APRIL 27, 2012—AQHA Racing Champion 3-year-Old Colt and first crop sire One Famous Eagle got his first stakes winner Friday when Dashaway Eagle won the $31,635 AQRA President's Open Spring Futurity at Turf Paradise.

The sorrel filly, owned by Alejandro Uriel Martinez, completed the 300 yards in :15.838 second into an 11 mph headwind. The $15,817 winner's purse pushed her career total to $17,518. Muller Racing, LLC bred Dashaway Eagle in Texas from the First Down Dash mare Oh Dahaway.

From a limited # of starters in his first crop at the track, One Famous Eagle is currently the #5 Leading First Crop Sire of Money Earners with nearly $70,000 in earnings. He is also the sire of West Texas Futurity(G1) fourth place runner-up Caballo Famous Eagle SI 98 ($16,200) and Grade 1 Sam Houston Futurity finalist One Eyed Eagle SI 96 ($19,401).

Owned and raced by Johnny Trotter and Burnett Ranches, LLC, One Famous Eagle won or placed in nine of 11 career starts, earning $1,387,453 at 2 and 3. He won the Los Alamitos Million Futurity(G1), Los Alamitos Super Derby(G1) and Golden State Derby(G1) and was finalist in the Champion of Champions (G1).

He is out of the Grade 3 placed All American Derby(G1) finalist One Famous Lady, by Chicks Beduino. An earner of $172,515, she out of the stakes-placed Dash For Cash mare One Slick Cookie, a sister to California Hi-Point Aged Stallion One Slick One ($157,937). The stakes-placed and multiple stakes producing Tiny's Gay mare Pfeffernusse is the third dam.
