GUTHRIE, OK—JANUARY 29, 2012—2012 World champion One Dashing Eagle arrived in Oklahoma City last Friday, via Federal Express from California. The 3-year-old will begin his stallion career next month at Lazy E Ranch, near Guthrie, Oklahoma. His fee has been set at $12,750, including the farm fee.
The son of all-time leading first crop sire One Famous Eagle became the first 2-year-old colt since Merganser, in 1988, to be named AQHA Racing world champion. He was also the champion 2-year-old and champion 2-year-old colt for 2012. Brothers Jose and Gustavo De La Torre and Jorge Carmona’s San Gregorio Racing Stable of Norco, California, own the young stallion.
"We are extremely grateful to the De La Torre brothers and Mr. Carmona for the trust and confidence that they have placed in Lazy E Ranch and we invite everyone to the ranch to see this legend of racing," Butch Wise, co-manger of Lazy E said late Monday.
