GUTHRIE, OK—AUGUST 17, 2009—Breeders Jeff Jones of Pembroke, North Carolina and Steve Holt of Guthrie, Oklahoma, have purchased Fred Stanley’s interest in the young stallion Fly Jess Fly and moved the horse to Lazy E Ranch, it was announced earlier today.

“We are extremely fortunate to have Mr. Jones and Mr. Holt place this exciting young horse in our stallion roster” said Butch Wise of Lazy E.

“From only 27 starters, he has 16 winners and is already a Grade 1 sire with 4 stakes horses. His runners have average earnings of nearly $17,000. I think these early statistics are proof of his true potential.”

A major stakes performer, Fly Jess Fly was second in the Heritage Place Futurity G1 and a finalist in the Heritage Place Derby G1.

His first starters include runners which have earned black type in such races as the Remington Park Futurity G1, Oklahoma Futurity G2, Black Gold Futurity and Kansas Bred Futurity.

One of the most popular young sons of leading sire Mr Jess Perry, Fly Jess Fly had been standing at Oklahoma Stud.

“I want to thank Milt Alderman of Oklahoma Stud for the excellent job he did in getting this horse’s career started,” Jones said.

Fly Jess Fly is out of the multiple stakes producing Six Fols mare Missy Nine, who is a half-sister to World Champion and Champion of Champions G1 winner Miss Thermolark SI-99, $498,877.

His 2010 Fee will be announced by Lazy E Ranch at a later date
